1. Use Excel to construct a Pareto diagram (show both individual data and cumulative %) using the data given in problem #3 (page 54). What do you conclude from the diagram?
2. Consider the situation “You are painting a ceiling and the paint is dripping on your face” (problem 8, page 55). Draw a cause-and-effect diagram showing at least one or two causes in each of the six categories: Environment, Materials, Manpower, Methods, Machinery/Equipment and Measurement. Explain which of the causes you would look at first to solve the problem.
