Graded Family Case Conceptualizations: Students will complete three graded family case conceptualizations for the film family from Off and Running using three different theoretical approaches taught in class: structural, solution-focused, and narrative. Double-spaced, one-two pages in length, no citations, written as if for the treatment team.

Assignment Description:
a) Using the family case conceptualization outline from the Gehart text (also posted on BBD) students will focus on the components of the case conceptualization from the specific theoretical perspective being used (structural, solution-focused, or narrative),
b) Provide a brief appreciative description of the family system attending to relevant cultural identities, restraints, and resources,
c) Articulate presenting concerns from family?s perspective,
d) Include family strengths at the individual, relational, community, cultural, social, and spiritual level,
e) Identify relevant social justice issues for this family (oppression, privilege, marginalization, and disempowerment),
f) Include clinical hypotheses from a specific theoretical perspective (why do you think this family struggling with these concerns at this point in time?),
g) Preliminary ideas about goal setting and interventions.
