State your Hypothesis
Solution
First, we regress stress against all the other variables to give the equation;
Y=b0 + b1*Self efficacy + b2*Achievement anxiety + b3*Math anxiety +b4*Self attitude
The test hypothesis is given as
Ho: There is no relationship between Self efficacy and stress as an undergraduate.
H1: There is a relationship between Self efficacy and stress as an undergraduate.
This is written as;
Ho:=0
H1:≠0
- Math Anxiety
- Academic achievement
- Self-Attitude
- Self-Efficacy
Ho:=0
H1:≠0
The p-value is 0.1210. this is greater than 0.05 which is the level of significance. We fail to reject the null hypothesis and conclude that math anxiety is not significant.
Ho:=0
H1:≠0
The p-value is 0.2825 this is greater than 0.05. We fail to reject the null hypothesis and conclude that academic achievement is not significant.
Ho:=0
H1:≠0
The p-value is 0.2021, which is greater than 0.05. We fail to reject the null hypothesis and conclude that academic achievement is not significant.
Ho:=0
H1:≠0
The p-value is 0.046, which is less than 0.05. We reject the null hypothesis and conclude that there is a relationship between self-efficacy and stress.
Regressing Stress against Self efficacy;
The regression equation is: y=141.44-1.422 x
The correlation coefficient r is -0.6127.
r (17) = -0.6127.
Decision: There is a moderate relationship between the Student self-efficacy and stress as an undergraduate student such that as self-efficacy increases the others decrease.
