Part 1: Conduct an interview of one student’s funds of knowledge. Candidates will use the linked form to complete a chart that explores the EL’s funds of knowledge: Funds of Knowledge Worksheet Funds of Knowledge Worksheet – Alternative Formats . Candidates may write directly into the chart and scan or take a picture of the completed chart to upload their assignment. Candidates may also re-type the chart if they prefer.
Part 2: Write a 3-4 double-spaced pages of a journal reflection of (1) the new insights that you gained through discovering your student’s funds of knowledge, and (2) implications that this project on your student’s funds of knowledge may have on the way that you teach your student, the curriculum you use with your student, and the way that you connect with their family members.
