This week’s Discussion Board deals with competition in healthcare. I can guarantee every one of us has driven down a road or highway and seen the giant billboards that hospitals and medical groups have erected. They usually have pictures of their providers and reference some sort of achievement, whether it is a new piece of equipment, new specialty, or new facility. This is a direct form of competition. These facilities need patients to succeed, and this type of advertising is great at attracting new ones in. What are some other ways you see organizations try to get the jump on others?
