Description of Assignment:
Task 1: Essay (AC 1.1, 4,1) 1000 Words
?Heated debates are still on going as to whether there should be law and order policies in the society; as many
believe that such policies which are aimed at protecting individuals and maintaining a lawful orderly society could
sometimes be an infringement to their freedoms?.
In your opinion and with the use of valid examples from credible sources, analyse why you
feel there should be law and order policies in society (AC 1.1) and why there is often tension
when balancing between civil rights and maintaining a lawful orderly society (AC 4.1)
Task 2: Information Pack (A.C 2.1 & 3.1)
Design an Information Pack of not more than 1000 words for the general public, evaluating
how police powers are being delegated (AC 1.2) and explaining the various legislations put in
place to ensure police accountability (AC 2.1).
In a report of not more than 750 words, explain the different ways in which the powers of the
UK police force are controlled (AC 3.1).
