Using the information we have covered in class up to this point, along with your own experience, write a 1-2 page description of a piece of music. The piece is the Overture to “Candide” by Leonard Bernstein. The link to the recording is just below the assignment instructions. During your description/analyzation, you will want to address concepts such as tempo, texture, form, dynamic range and instrumentation (and other areas as you feel is appropriate).
