Your assigned readings are Chapter 1 The Research Practice in the Withrow textbook and a journal article, which is linked here Article 1-Eight Lessons from Moneyball.pdf. The article discusses the use of data in making decisions about the business/game of baseball. This is an unusual article in that it discusses the use of data in baseball, and then applies these lessons to the field of corrections.
