Because there are many different “correct” answers when solving a graphic design problem, every project in which you are engaged will often require several rounds of edits before it is complete. A successful logo and by extension, corporate identity is one that is simple, iconic, and consistent thus logo design, in particular, requires much refinement to ensure what is created adequately reflects company goals, culture, and message.

When you are preparing for a final logo presentation, it is best to show your design in a variety of ways thus showcasing its flexibility and adaptability. Producing a logo sheet most often is the way this is shown. In addition to including a designers name and client or project name, a logo sheet showcases the logo in the following iterations:

  • Logo in black and white
  • Logo in grayscale
  • Logo in CMYK with color swatches labeled or shown as a key
  • Logo in RGB with color swatches labeled or shown as a key
  • Color logo shown in the following sizes: 1”, 3”, 6”
  • Black and white logo shown in the following sizes: 1”, 3”, 6”
  • Logo in black and white shown on a dark background
  • Logo in color shown on a dark background

By providing the client with a robust set of options, you ensure that the logo will work in a wide variety of applications and remains recognizable in a wide variety of sizes.
