Using your readings this week as a guide, apply what you’ve learned in the text by answering the following discussion questions (include references to the textbook whenever applicable). What I’m looking for is evidence that you’ve read the text, that you understand the basic principles presented, and that you can apply them into relevant context:
1) How could assessment be used to create a productive work team? Name two useful assessments that you could use to help employees gain self-awareness of how they respond to conflict, what motivates them, how they solve problems, how they react to stress and other behavioral tendencies.
2) Take the MBTI assessment here: http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/jtypes2.asp. Evaluate your description of yourself as it emerges from your analysis, above: What new information did you learn about yourself? If you found the indicators to be significantly inaccurate, can you think of reasons why this might be so? How will you use this knowledge about your MBTI type to help you to make career decisions?
3) What should be included in a development plan? What do you think is the most important part of the plan for ensuring that employees develop? Explain your choice.
