listening to each of the pieces, write a comparative descriiption, or “analysis”, of the two pieces.
You can listen to each piece you have chosen as many times as you want: the more you listen,
the more you will understand the selection. In addition to describing what you hear about each
selection, compare and contrast the two. For example, what musical components (ie tempo,
instrumentation, texture, etc) are similar? How are they different? Would you expect to hear
these two selections together in a performance? Lastly, provide some background information
on both the composers and the composition.
