Students will identify TWO approaches, one insight-oriented and one action-oriented, that are of personal interest and undertake research into the chosen approaches. When developing the essay:
Articulate your interest in the approaches. Why were the approaches identified as useful therapeutic modalities?
How will the approaches complement one another? Be specific. Provide examples.
How will they be of benefit to the client? How will they be of benefit the counselor/individual utilizing counseling theory and practice in a professional setting?
Synthesize your findings into a working paradigm.
Your essay will require a minimum of FOUR outside references from reputable academic sources. A minimum of two of the four sources MUST be peer-reviewed academic journal articles.
