This involves all manner of organizational life and behavior, whether it is in a business, government, a ministry or non-profit, or something related. Before sin, we were in perfect fellowship with God and thus our strengths and gifts were in perfect operational order. This all changed at the Fall and now work is hard, and success is achieved through sweat, exertion, and often many missteps. Industrial-Organizational Psychology (IOP) is an attempt to help us work more effectively and efficiently, but many of the secular ideas at the foundation of various psychological perspectives have a diminished view of humans as only being a product of natural forces and the environment……… The Bible says differently. First, we were made in God’s image, and even though we rebelled against God, he nevertheless came looking for us. He took on flesh and dwelt among us, and ultimately gave his life for us. And now we can once again be in fellowship with the Father. We can conclude from this that our lives have meaning and significance, our gifts and strengths are ultimately for eternal purposes, and the gift of God’s grace is not something that can be earned or won. It can only be accepted through Christ……………………………………………………………. If this is true, how can we, in turn, succumb to perfectionism and workaholism on one extreme, or laziness and apathy about work on the other?……………………… We were made to take dominion, but only in the context of abiding in perfect fellowship with God through Jesus Christ.
