Project Requirements
- Determine the critical design loads, Pu, for each member of the truss
- Design all the truss members
- Design the connections
- Complete the design drawings (a similar drawing will be provided separately as an example)
Dead Load (DL) includes the estimated self-weight of the members, purlins and the weight of the material covering the roof surface. Additionally, you have snow loads, wind loads and earthquake loads.
DESIGN the connections of the truss as well.
You can use structural analysis software such as RISA3D to perform structural analysis portion of your project, but the design of truss members and the connections must be carried out by hand solutions and reported separately. You can use any CAD software to present the final design.
